Apprentice Favorite Episode

My favorite episode of The Apprentice so far has been Season 2, Episode 7. The team's task was to create a dog service business and whoever makes the most profit from their business wins. The leader of Mosaic was Wes and the leader of Apex was Jennifer. The Apex team won the challenge, making $307.41 over Mosaic's $122.12. As a reward, Apex got to have a conversation with the mayor of New York at the time, Mayor Bloomberg. Stacie, Andy and Wes of Mosaic were taken to the boardroom where Stacie was sent home because of her inability to take accountability and failure to sell her ideas. I liked this episode so much because it was funny to watch the candidates do ridiculous things just to make money. We are used to seeing them act professional and this time they had to do work with animals, something not all of them were used to. The business lesson from this episode was "Sell your ideas", something that Stacie failed to do.

Current Event - Decemeber 14, 2016

The current event article that I found was called "How Millennials and Gen Z Transformed Tourism Marketing Trough Sharing". Marketers have made a link between the members of these generations and social media marketing. They found that "social media's peer-to-peer content, not the channel itself, informs and influences Millennials' purchasing decisions." Over the past few years, studies have shown that these younger generations have more of an interest in traveling the world and exploring new places. When friends travel, it is almost guaranteed that they will be sharing pictures from their trip. These pictures offer inspiration to Millennials on where to book their next trip. Also, seeing where their favorite social media personalities have traveled has a big influence on where they plan on going. People from these generations do their travel research on sites such as Kayak and Expedia, rather than from travel agents that past generations tended to turn to. These sites not only give abundant information about a destination, but they provide reviews of these spots for people to read and take into account. It is concluded that in order to appeal to these generations, travel brands need to not only be social media friendly, but have an online presence, such as brand ambassadors, to market their services.

Holiday Campaigns

Jet Blue Airlines has gotten in the Thanksgiving holiday spirit recently. In their email sent to flyers, they included 12 Thanksgiving themed puns with pictures to go with almost all of them. With puns such as "Happy Thanksgiving, pun-kin" and "SQUASH the idea of staying put this season", its hard to not be as excited about the holiday as Jet Blue is. This clever play on words and pictures makes Jet Blue appeal to flyers more so than other airlines. Its, fun, festive and gets people in the mood to travel!

Survey Conclusion

After seeing the responses to my survey, I can conclude that the students in the school, no matter what the grade or gender, would like to see more school spirit. On my survey, I got 16 responses. 75% of the people who answered said they would like to see more themed days and almost all of the students that took my survey said that a school store would be a great way to boost school spirit. If I was to make the survey more efficient, I would include more themed day options as well as a question about what students do not want rather than just seeing what they want to have in our school.
